On page 28, there is an ultimate in 10 simple rules. While this can be used in coaching to start, the official rules are by what decsisions are made on the field.
There is also a “Spirit of the Game” guideline within the document that coaches and players should understand for self-officiating to work. As ultimate is self-officiated, it is imperative that coaches and players learn the rules. Conflicts on the field can occur when one team is knowledgeable of the rules and one team isn’t. Calls can only be made by players on the field. Teams have to be prepared to be open to rule calls, asking for clarification when needed.
