DEFINITION OF OPEN PLAYER:
“A student-athlete who has competed in a provincial or national tournament within the past 12 months outside the high school program, shall be classified as an Open participant within the individual division.”
It seems there is some confusion as to which Golf Ontario competitions are included within this definition. The best way to explain this is with actual examples.
To clarify, participation in a provincial qualifying tournament or regional tour event does NOT classify athletes as ‘Open’. Student-athletes that have participated in an actual provincial or national tournament for their age are considered Open participants. Remember all student-athletes must be designated when registering for OFSAA.
